The Kingsport Area Transit Service (KATS) offers five routes to take riders to shopping, dining and medical districts throughout Kingsport. All KATS buses are clean, safe and well-maintained for your comfort and safety. Our experienced drivers are always courteous and want to make sure that you arrive to your destination safe and on time.

Our vehicles are equipped with air-conditioning, wheelchair lifts for ADA paratransit riders, emergency exits and high back seats to provide a more pleasant ride. In addition, all vehicles are designated non-smoking.

KATS' Transit Center at 109 Clay Street also has been designed with our passengers in mind; completely enclosed from the weather, riders can relax in the Transit Center lobby while waiting to transfer to another bus.

KATS operates from 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Buses do not run holidays or weekends.

The cost to ride a KATS bus is $1. Those who qualify under Americans with Disabilities Act standards receive special needs transportation to doctors' appointments, shopping and other destinations. For more information about KATS, call (423) 224-2613.
