Kingsport Area Transit System’s (KATS) ADA/ Paratransit Service is a curb-to-curb, demand response transportation service for the mobility impaired in Kingsport. Paratransit service, as specified by ADA requirements, will operate and service the areas within 3/4 mile of the service route bus system. KATS provides this service in addition to its regular bus service. Curb-to-curb service means our bus will not drive on to private property, but must stay on public streets and areas. Drivers are allowed only to assist persons on and off the vehicle. Reservations are requested with KATS van service one day in advance.
	ADA/ Paratransit Service is available to persons unable to use KATS’ regular bus service due to mobility limitations. An application that includes medical certification is required. This application will take about three weeks to process. Eligibility criteria and applications are available at the KATS office: 109 Clay Street, Kingsport TN, or via mail by calling 224-2613.
	ADA/ Paratransit service is available Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.(last call for return trip). The fare is $1.00 per person if located 3/4 mile of the fixed route van service area. These fares reflect service requested with KATS one day in advance.
